Resident Evil 6 Multiplayer Details Emerge

Co-op returns.

April 10, 2012
Capcom has provided new details about Resident Evil 6's multiplayer modes.

During its Captivate event in Rome, Capcom revealed that Resident Evil 6 will see the return of cooperative multiplayer, including both online and split-screen play. Unlike in Resident Evil 5, the mode will now feature drop-in and drop-out play. Players will be able to come and go as they please and will no longer be forced to return to checkpoints or restart chapters.

Capcom also confirmed that Mercenaries mode, seen in previous Resident Evil games, will make a return in RE6. Unlike past games, this mode will be available from the start and won't need to be unlocked. Additional multiplayer options, including new co-op mechanics, are also set to be announced in the future.

Resident Evil 6 is set to be released on October 2nd, as we revealed this morning. For more about the game in action, check out our impressions of the game in action.
