Ariel Castro is charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape. During Amanda Berry’s 911 phone call, she specifically named Ariel as her captor. Ariel is also said to have helped search parties look for the missing teens after they were abducted.

Charles Ramsey is the man who helped Amanda Berry escape. He lives in the neighborhood where the women were being held captive and saw Berry struggling to escape from a house door. Ramsey not only broke the door for Berry to get out, but his phone was used to make the 911 call. Once police arrived, the other victims were found and removed from the house.
