- How do I log in?
You can click on the login button in the upper right or the system will automatically prompt you to log in when you perform an action that requires it. The log in prompt allows users to select “remember me”. Doing this sets a cookie, which saves your authentication information and eliminates the hassle of having to log in again.
- What is my www.charter.net username?
If you have Charter Internet, your username is your complete Charter email address including the domain (example@charter.net). Your portal login password is the Charter email password. If you do not have Charter Internet, your username is your Charter My Account username, and your password is the Charter My Account password.
- How do I change or retrieve my password?
The email owner can change or reset a password for an email/charter.net account:
- Log in with your My Account information at charter.com/myaccount. Click on the Online Tools tab.
- Click the "CHANGE" hyperlink to the right of the account you want to change.
- To change the password, type the new password in the Password field. While the actual typed values will not appear, an asterisk will display for each character typed.
- In the Confirm Password field, retype the new password. Click the Save button.
- What's happening if I constantly have to log in for access to my subscription services or to customize www.charter.net?
You may have "Cookies" turned off for your Web browser. Cookies allow the Charter system to recognize you and "find" your login and credentials as you navigate throughout the many content partners in your subscription. To switch Cookies on, click on Tools, Internet Options, and Privacy. Select a Privacy setting of 'Medium' or lower, which will enable Cookies and provide a seamless subscription content viewing experience.
- How can I customize my homepage?
There are many ways to customize your homepage when you are logged in:
Drag & Drop
Personalizing your layout has never been easier. Click on any component on the page and hold down your left mouse button. Then you can drag the component up or down and drop it in the desired homepage location.
Customize
Add sports, market watch, entertainment and other content by clicking on the "ADD CONTENT" link at the top of the homepage.
Localize
Set the weather for your neighborhood, add your local movie theater on the movies page and add your local TV listings. It is all easy to do and at your fingertips
- Why do I have to re-enter my password?
If you enter your username and password into charter.net and select the "remember me” button, you will not be prompted to log in again for 90 days. For email, the timeout is shorter - 24 hours. So, if you click on email 23 hours after logging in, you gain direct access without a prompt for your password. If you click on email 25 hours after logging in, you will be prompted for your password.
- Who do I contact if I can't access my premium online content or my login fails?
If you can't access your content because of a failed password or broken link, please contact a Charter Customer Care Representative by going to www.charter.com to obtain your Support Centers Phone number or locate your Charter Cable Bill. Your Contact Center phone number is located on your billing statement.
- What are the system requirements for www.charter.net?
The following are recommended for the best www.charter.net experience:
- Windows 98/2000/XP/ME, Vista, MacOS X, Unix
- IE7 (or higher) or Firefox 3.0 (or higher)
- 256MB RAM
- Real Player 9.0 or higher

- How do I know if my system has the latest Plug-Ins, or Media Players?
Please find the link to our "Get Plug-Ins" located at the footer of www.charter.net. This link allows customers to simply click and have their desktop scanned for available Plug-ins and those needed for optimal use of the services available through the portal. Clicking on this link will result in a window advising of any Plug-ins needed with links to download the software. RealPlayer is the only plug-in required to view the portal content. The rest may be required to access premium content.
- Why is my browser having trouble displaying the page?
Versions of Internet Explore older than Internet Explorer 9 will not display the portal properly. You will also likely receive a pop up error regarding login. To solve this problem, you will need to download Internet Explorer 9. Clicking on "Get Plug Ins and Downloads" in the footer of charter.net will guide you to the download.
- Where is my Email?
Change the first sentence of this answer to: You can access your email by simply clicking on the gray EMAIL tab on the top of every page. No need to log in separately, once you are logged into the portal you will automatically get into your email. And to protect your email content you will be logged out of your email session after 24 hours even if you click “Remember me.”
- How do I add or remove stocks from the Market Watch component?
If you have stocks that you want to add or remove from your Market Watch component, you simply type the stock symbol you wish to add or remove in the "add/remove" field and click "go".
